In celebration of NAIDOC Week, ATKM presents a collaboration with Bima, one of Australia's longest-running First Nations arts and cultural centres — a women's collective, proudly Tiwi owned and operated, established in 1969 on the Tiwi Islands, 100km north of Darwin.
Featuring Minga, the latest design by senior Bima artist Tara Munkanome, and Yirinkirripwoja by Cypanthea Puruntatameri, created using Pwoja — ironwood combs traditionally used for Jilamara, Tiwi ceremonial body painting. Each piece supports Bima, its artists, and the preservation of Tiwi cultural knowledge.
Designed, developed and manufactured in small batches, right here in Melbourne.
